30 Something Skincare TipsIt's no secret that our bodies and our skin changes as we age. While many people make lifestyle changes (regular exercise, a low-fat diet) to offset a slowing metabolism, they neglect to make similar changes to their skincare routine. For those that have reached the Big 3-0, we've got some skincare tips to keep you looking healthy and youthful no matter what the calendar says.

Reevaluate Your Needs – Now is a good time to take a look at your skin and note any changes in your complexion. What was once an oily complexion may have changed into combination or even dry skin. You may notice other differences including enlarged pores, the onset of fine lines and wrinkles, and increased sensitivity to products. The harsh, oil-stripping cleansers of your teens and early '20s may no longer meet your needs. Switch things up with a gentle, but thoroughly effective cleanser like the Wrinkle Revenge 1 antioxidant enhanced glycolic acid facial cleanser, a pH balanced, non-oily, soap-free facial wash.

The Eyes Have It  – While a daily wash may be all you needed in your '20s, it’s time to pay attention to the eye area. The delicate skin surrounding the eyes is one of the first to show the signs of aging. Fight off fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area with a potent eye cream. We recommend Wrinkle Revenge rescue & protect eye balm to combat wrinkles, as well as puffiness and dark circles.

Get Handsy – These days everyone knows the importance of using sunscreen on a daily basis. Yet while many women are careful to protect their face with SPF every day, they neglect the rest of their body. Make sure to protect against sun damage and sunspots by applying sunscreen to every inch of exposed skin, paying special attention to the hands. The thin skin of the hands is another one of the first areas to show the effects of age, so be sure to reapply as needed throughout the day. We suggest you keep a tube of Ain't Misbehavin' skin clarifying & mattifying sunscreen spf 30 in your purse or car so it's always there when you need it. NOTE: not in a hot car though!

Be a Sleeping Beauty - During your '20s you may have been able to get by on just a few hours of sleep, but now those late nights can take a toll on skin.  Getting a full eight hours can lead to a brighter, more youthful complexion. In fact, it's those last few hours of sleep that can make all the difference. It is during the second half of the sleep cycle that growth hormones are at their highest and this is the time when cells are repaired and aging is slowed. Make sure to keep your body well rested so that you keep your skin glowing.

While we can't stop the hands of time, making a few changes in your lifestyle and beauty routine can help slow the clock down. Incorporate these tips into your lifestyle and you just may be able to keep your skin looking young and fresh.
