Wondering which shades to reach for to be on-trend this season? Look to the colorful, falling leaves for a clue. This Fall, the rich, vibrant hues of the changing leaves will be found on the eyes, lips and nails of fashionistas and beauty mavens. To help you pick the best products, we’ve rounded up the most fashion forward shades of the season.

Gold – Beauty bloggers around the world all seem to agree that antique gold is the color of Fall 2013. Look for this deep, burnished golden hue in an eye shadow to add some depth and sparkle to your eyes. Wear it on the lids and/or in the crease of the eye to draw light to your face and open up the eyes.

Orange – Red-orange and coral-orange were the must-have shades of the summer and the orange shade is still going strong. Keep the hue in your color wheel by looking for burnt orange shades in eye shadows. Used sparingly in the crease of the eye, this color can really make blue or green eyes pop. A true orange looks fashion forward on the nails, while reddish-orange hues will still be seen on the lips and cheeks of beauty junkies all season long.

Rustic Red – Nothing says Fall like a deep, dark red lip. This season, lipsticks in burgundy red are on the pouts of stylish women everywhere. To wear this look, make sure your lips are flake-free (try this DIY lip scrub to banish flakes: 2 tablespoons of olive oil mixed with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar!) and apply a layer of hydrating balm before the lipstick. Follow up, with a layer of coordinating lip liner to keep the lipstick from feathering during the day. For those that find this bold look a bit too much, turn to a deep red lipgloss for a similar look.

Brown – Finally, browns of all hues, from barely beige to dark cocoa, will be on the lids of beauty lovers. You surely have seen the multiple palettes on the market highlighting earth tones of all shades. Their popularity is not surprising considering the shade works on almost every complexion and with every eye color. Pick up your favorite and experiment with the range of browns to perfect a neutral daytime look and a more intense, smoky eye for evening. With a palette full of versatile browns, you’ll have an eye look for every occasion.

It's the most wonderful time of the year for cosmetic lovers (at least until the holiday collections hit the shelves!), so celebrate by picking up a few new colors in your favorite leaf-inspired shade.
