Jock itch is the term commonly used to describe a contagious fungal infection. Although there are several causes of jock itch, this term is most commonly associated with tinea cruris, a common fungal infection that affects the groin and inner thighs of men and women. Itching, burning, redness, scaling and weeping may all be symptoms of this problem. This fungal infection of the skin thrives in dark, moist conditions.
