Warts Warts are a viral infection of the skin that cause unsightly growths. Warts can be flat or protuberant, soft or crusty. One thing about warts is constant - they are contagious and should be treated before you develop further lesions. Topical wart medications can help treat these lesions. Currently, salicylic acid is the main ingredient used in skin care products to exfoliate warts. Don't forget the importance of visiting with your dermatologist to treat resistant warts.
