What is Keratosis Pilaris?
Keratosis Pilaris (commonly dubbed "KP" or "chicken skin") is a common skin disorder that effects nearly 50% of the worlds population. It creates overgrowth of skin around the hair follicle that presents itself as a raised, rough, bump. It is often quite noticeable and commonly affects the upper arms and legs, but can also be seen on the cheeks, back & buttocks in less common instances. Inflammation within each hair follicle can cause embarrassing pinpoint red or brown polka dots to form beneath each miniature mound of skin buildup.

Will my Keratosis Pilaris ever go away?
Since keratosis pilaris is genetically predetermined, it may not be curable but should be controllable. Treatment for keratosis pilaris is ongoing - if discontinued, skin begins reforming around hair follicles. Chronic maintenance is the best way to maintain smooth skin.

How long do I need to apply DERMAdoctor KP Duty before I see results?

Can DERMAdoctor KP Duty be used on the face?
Yes, with caution, KP Duty can be used on the face. It is recommended that you apply it to a test area first, to ensure a reaction will not take place. If no reaction occurs, you can apply to the face every other day and be certain to apply SPF 15 or higher daily.
