I have blackheads on the sides of my nose and on my chin, what product do you recommend?
I recommend DERMAdoctor Ain't Misbehavin' Intensive Medicated Blackhead Treatment, with glycolic acid, 2% salicylic acid, retinol and astringents to help minimize the appearance of your blackheads.
My pores look large and have a dark center, is this a blackhead?
It certainly sounds like it. Plugs within the pores composed of sebum, cellular debris and bacteria congest the gland and expand the pore. Contact with air allows oxygenation to take place, turning the plugs black, further heightening visibility.
What causes blackheads to form?
Events which lead to the formation of the blackheads include the build-up of dead skin cells, oil and bacteria due to an acne-forming disorder of keratinization, hormonal influences and poor exfoliation.
What is the difference between DERMAdoctor Ain't Misbehavin' Intensive Medicated Blackhead Treatment and Picture Porefect?
Both DERMAdoctor Picture Porefect and Ain't Misbehavin' Blackhead Treatment contain retinol, astringents, AHAs and Sebum Sequestering Micro-particles. Picture Porefect is a treatment product used to minimize the appearance of enlarged pores. Blackhead Treatment contains 2% salicylic acid and is specifically recommended for blackheads.
