What is the difference between Total Nonscents & Total Nonscents Brightening?
Both are Ultra-Gentle Antiperspirants that are highly effective in fighting wetness and odor. The Total Nonscents Brightening has an added ingredient, Kojic Dipalmitate, to treat underarm discoloration while fighting wetness and odor.

No, both of those rumors are false. According the American Cancer Society, "There is absolutely no scientific evidence that antiperspirants cause or even increase a woman's risk for breast cancer". The Alzheimer's Association states: "most researchers believe that not enough evidence exists to consider aluminum a risk factor for Alzheimer's."

What causes underarm discoloration?
Underarm discoloration is where the skin in the underarm region is darker than the surrounding skin. Underarm discoloration can be caused by irritating ingredients found in deodorants and antiperspirants, a predilection to eczema or diabetes (acanthosis nigricans), as well as from skin friction triggered by movement and activity.

How long should it take for the Total Nonscents Ultra-Gentle Brightening Antiperspirant to work on my underarm discoloration?
It depends on what you are starting with and your skin tone. The darker the baseline skin tone, the darker the discoloration usually is. Generally speaking, allow 6-9 months of continued use to see optimal results. After the discoloration normalizes, you can switch to the Total Nonscents Ultra-Gentle Antiperspirant regular formulation.

What is the difference between an antiperspirant and a deodorant?
A deodorant is technically a product that leaves a pleasant smell upon the skin and is meant to mask body odor. It doesn't necessarily contain an antiperspirant, the ingredient that works to keep everything dry. An antiperspirant works by blocking the sweat ducts, preventing sweat from reaching the skin's surface.
